Betancourt leaves with upset stomach Friday
KANSAS CITY -- Royals shortstop Yuniesky Betancourt left Friday night's game after seven innings because of an upset stomach and light-headedness.
"He ate something either last night or this morning that made him sick. He was throwing up this morning and he came to the park and his stomach was upset so he really didn't eat much," manager Ned Yost said.
"He got a little light-headed in the eighth inning with the heat and humidity so we got him out of there, loaded him up on fluids and he feels much better and should be ready to go tomorrow."
Yost said Betancourt's condition was not believed to be related to a mild concussion he suffered in a game against the Rangers on May 25.
