Omaha Royals

Iowa 8, Omaha 7

Omaha's playoff chances took a hit as Iowa rallied with four in the ninth to take the finale. Iowa leads Memphis by half a game and Omaha by 3.5 games. Scott Thorman became the first O-Royal to hit for the cycle since 2003. Thorman doubled in the first, homered in the third, tripled in the fifth and singled in the seventh. Mike Moustakas hit his second home run in as many days and his 31st between NW Arkansas and Omaha. Starter Luis Mendoza (7 IP, 9 H, 4 R, 3 ER) allowed all four runs in the fourth inning. Omaha begins the final home series at Rosenblatt Stadium on Monday against Round Rock (Astros).

NW Arkansas Naturals

NW Arkansas 3, Tulsa 1

The Naturals earned win number 80 with a triumph in Tulsa. Blake Johnson limited the Drillers to a run on four hits and two walks over seven innings. NW Arkansas scored all three runs in the sixth. Josh Fields drove in a pair with a single and Clint Robinson followed with his 89th RBI of the year. Derrick Robinson stole his league-best 50th base of the year.

Wilmington Blue Rocks

Lynchburg 4, Wilmington 3 (10 innings)

Wilmington remains a game-and-a-half behind Potomac after dropping a 10-inning contest at Lynchburg. Starter Will Smith scattered three runs on eight hits over eight innings. Smith fanned five and walked none. He has 42 strikeouts and just four walks in 47 2/3 innings with the Blue Rocks. Christian Colon went 3-for-5 with a run and his first stolen base as a pro. Wilmington finishes the road slate with a 32-38 mark. They open a homestand against Myrtle Beach (Braves) on Monday.

Burlington Bees

Beloit 11, Burlington 5

HR: None

Burlington lost a second straight game at Beloit. Starter Dusty Odenbach was charged with six runs on 11 hits and two walks over four innings. Carlo Testa reached base four times, going 2-for-3 with two walks and two runs. Jake Kuebler and Ben Theriot drove in two runs apiece.

Idaho Falls Chukars

Helena 9, Idaho Falls 2

HR: None

Idaho Falls lost a lopsided contest despite receiving 15 strikeouts from their pitching staff. Starter Brian Peacock allowed four runs on four hits and three walks in two innings. Nick Graffeo, stepson of Kevin Seitzer, struck out seven batters while yielding a run on two hits over three innings. Juan Polonia went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base.

Burlington Royals

Burlington 4, Danville 3

Burlington is tied with Danville and one win away from their first playoff berth since 1993. Edul Escobar tripled home Alex Llanos for the go-ahead tally in the seventh. Starter Jonathan Dooley held Danville to three runs (two earned) in 6 1/3 innings of work. The series shifts to Danville on Monday.

Surprise Royals

Surprise 5, Arizona Mariners 4

HR: None

Surprise completed their season, finishing a half-game behind the Rangers in the West. Yordano Ventura held the Dodgers to one run on two hits over three innings. Tyler Gatrell struck out the side in the ninth for his league-best 12th save. The first four batters in the Surprise lineup had two hits apiece. Darian Sandford went 2-for-4 with an RBI, two runs and his league-leading 30th steal. Michael Antonio doubled twice and drove in a run.
