KANSAS CITY -- Catcher Matt Treanor went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored in his first game of a rehab assignment with Double-A Northwest Arkansas on Wednesday night.
"Good, everything came back good," manager Ned Yost said. "He felt good, he was 1-for-2, caught good. I think he caught five innings and he'll take the day off."
Treanor had a flyout and a two-run single in the third as Northwest Arkansas won, 14-2. He was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the fifth inning and then taken out of the game after the frame ended.
Yost said Treanor was fine after being hit by the pitch.
The veteran is back to playing after being out since July 30 with a concussion. He was initially placed on the seven-day concussion disabled list and then transferred to the 15-day DL on Sunday.
