Following the Grow with the Pros Open House, Royals Charities and the Baseball Tomorrow Fund will host a private field maintenance clinic for local little leagues and previous Royalty Fields and Baseball Tomorrow Fund grant recipients. In conjunction with the clinic, the Baseball Tomorrow Fund will present $5,000 grants to both Blue Springs (Mo.) High School and Van Horn High School in Independence, Mo., for baseball field upgrades.
The Baseball Tomorrow Fund was established in 1999 to promote and enhance the growth of baseball throughout the world by funding programs, field improvements and equipment purchases all in an effort to encourage and maintain youth participation in baseball and softball. The Baseball Tomorrow Fund averages $1.5 million in grants annually and partners with teams around the Major Leagues on equipment drives.
Royalty Fields, an ongoing Royals Charities matching grant program, provides financial support to improve baseball and/or softball facilities throughout the Midwest. Since its inception in 2006, Royalty Fields has awarded more than 50 matching grants.
