Omaha's season-long losing streak is now at four games after an 11-inning heartbreaker on Wednesday. The Storm Chasers built a 3-0 lead in the first, with two coming on a Johnny Giavotella home run. Giavotella extended the lead to 4-0 with an RBI single in the sixth. Irving Falu and David Lough finished with three hits apiece for Omaha. Nashville scored five runs off of the Omaha bullpen, spoiling a strong start by Everett Teaford (5.2 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 4 SO).

NW Arkansas Naturals (12-14)

The Naturals dropped a second straight at Springfield. Carlo Testa put Northwest Arkansas on top with a solo shot in the sixth. Springfield countered with a homer in the bottom half off of Blaine Hardy. The Cardinals scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in the eighth. Starter Justin Marks scattered seven hits and two walks over 6.0 scoreless innings.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (11-14)

Wilmington fell to 2-1 in a four-game series as the Red Sox scored a pair in the first and held on. The loss went to Tyler Sample, who allowed just one hit, a two-run double, over 5.0 innings. Sample struck out nine while walking four. Brett Eibner supplied the lone Wilmington run with a homer in the second.

Murray Watts led Kane County to a series opening win at home. Watts slugged a three-run homer in the second, then added a two-run double in the eighth. Starter Jason Mitchell left in line for the win after scattering two runs on seven hits and two walks over 5.0 innings.
