Omaha Storm Chasers (23-13)

Omaha 7, Sacramento 1
WP: Will Smith (1-2)
HR: Terry Evans (3), Tony Abreu (3)

Omaha salvaged the finale of a four-game set in Sacramento. Will Smith limited the River Cats to a run on six hits while fanning six over 7.0 innings. Tommy Hottovy struck out four over the final 2.0 innings. Terry Evans gave Omaha all of the scoring that they would need with a three-run blast in the second. Tony Abreu added a solo blast in the third and Max Ramirez singled home a pair in Omaha's three-run eighth. The Storm Chasers are at Fresno (Giants) on Saturday.

NW Arkansas Naturals (18-16)

NW Arkansas 8, Springfield 2
WP: Jake Odorizzi (4-2)
HR: John Whittleman (5)

The Naturals followed Thursday's combined no-hitter with a second straight win over Springfield. Jake Odorizzi impressed once again, scattering two runs on six hits and a walk over 7.0 innings. He struck out seven and has 47 K's in 38.0 innings. John Whittleman gave Odorizzi a cushion by hitting a three-run homer in the fifth, extending the lead to 5-1. Christian Colon went 3-for-4 with a walk and three runs. He is batting .313 on the year and .389 in May (14-for-36). Wil Myers walked three times and scored twice. His hitting streak was snapped at 16 games. The Naturals are 15-5 at home compared to 3-11 on the road.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (14-19)

Wilmington 6, Frederick 5
WP: Greg Billo (3-3)
SV: Nick Rogers (4)
HR: Whit Merrifield (3), Brett Eibner (5)

Brett Eibner's grand slam keyed a five-run fifth as Wilmington opened with a win at Frederick. Eibner has five of the team's 13 home runs on the year. Whit Merrifield added his third homer of the year and his second leadoff blast. Starter Greg Billo yielded four runs on four hits and two walks over 6.0 innings. Nick Rogers allowed a run for the first time this year, snapping a stretch of 11.0 scoreless frames.

Kane County Cougars (18-17)

Kane County 8, Clinton 7
WP: Matt Ridings (2-1)
HR: Orlando Calixte (5)

Kane County scored three to walk off in the ninth, capped off by Orlando Calixte's solo home run. Calixte has three homers over his last four games and five on the year. He hit three last year with the Cougars. Danny Mateo finished 4-for-5 with a run scored. Michael Antonio recorded three hits and four RBI. Lane Adams added a double, a triple, two RBI and two runs.
