KANSAS CITY -- Royals manager Trey Hillman got hotter than the steamy Kansas City weather on Saturday night.
Hillman received his second ejection of the season after going jaw-to-jaw with first-base umpire Brian O'Nora in the fourth inning. With a runner at first and nobody out, Alex Gordon laid down a bunt. Hillman thought Gordon had beaten the throw for a hit, but O'Nora ruled that Scott Kazmir's throw nipped Gordon at first.
Hillman sprinted from the dugout and vehemently argued the call as Royals fans urged him on. Eventually, O'Nora heard enough and gave Hillman the heave-ho.
Hillman's other ejection came on June 10 against the Texas Rangers for arguing balls and strikes.
