Getz in Royals' lineup; Giavotella to Omaha
KANSAS CITY -- Second baseman Chris Getz is off the disabled list and in the Royals' starting lineup for Tuesday's series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers.

To make room, the Royals optioned second baseman Johnny Giavotella to Triple-A Omaha.

Getz had been out since May 22 with a left ribcage contusion and missed 17 games after hitting .277 in 30 games. He was rehabbing with Omaha, where he hit .421 (8-for-19) with six RBIs in five games.

Getz is batting second against Zack Greinke and the Brewers at Kauffman Stadium.

Giavotella was hitting .217 in 21 games, including 11 starts at second, for the Royals. He was called up from Omaha on May 9 after posting a .331 average with five homers and 25 RBIs in 31 games for the Storm Chasers.
