KANSAS CITY -- Jonathan Sanchez will be activated from the disabled list and make the start Wednesday against the Brewers. The move pushes Wednesday's originally scheduled starter, Luke Hochevar, back to Thursday.
Sanchez hasn't made a start for Kansas City since May 7. He was placed on the disabled list on May 9 with left bicep tendonitis.
Sanchez has struggled so far this season. In six starts, he has a 1-2 record with a 6.75 ERA. He has walked 22 batters and struck out just 18. His last start was his roughest of the year, as he lasted just three innings and allowed six runs.
His just-completed rehab assignment at Triple-A Omaha didn't go too well, either. He went 1-1 in three starts. In 13 1/3 innings pitched, he surrendered 10 runs on 14 hits, including five home runs.
A corresponding roster move will be made Wednesday.
