KANSAS CITY -- Relief pitcher Louis Coleman was optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday to make room for Jonathan Sanchez's return from the disabled list
In 16 games for the Royals, the right-handed Coleman posted a 3.15 ERA, striking out 18 batters and walking 12 in 20 innings pitched.
Coleman has appeared in five games for the Storm Chasers so far this year, surrendering three runs in 9 1/3 innings.
Sanchez had been sidelined by left biceps tendinitis since allowing six runs in just three innings against the Red Sox on May 7.
"He's healthy," Royals manager Ned Yost said. "He feels good, he feels strong. It's time to get him back up here and let him get back after it again."
