KANSAS CITY -- Outfielder Wil Myers and left-handed pitcher Ryan Verdugo of the Royals' Triple-A affiliate at Omaha were named to the All-Pacific Coast League team.
The 12-player team was selected by PCL managers, general managers and media.
Myers, 21, in 93 games with the Storm Chasers, has a .294 average with 22 home runs, 15 doubles and 74 RBIs. He played for the winning USA squad in the All-Star Futures Game in Kansas City, driving in three runs with two hits in a 17-5 win over the World team.
Before being promoted to Omaha, Myers hit 13 home runs for Double-A Northwest Arkansas and his total of 35 was tied for the most in the Minors this season. He also has 104 RBIs for the year.
Verdugo, 25, has a 12-3 record and 3.37 ERA in 25 games including 22 starts for Omaha. He has 116 strikeouts in 131 innings. He contributed a scoreless inning to the PCL's 3-0 win over the International League in the Triple-A All-Star Game.
Verdugo was obtained by the Royals from San Francisco along with pitcher Jonathan Sanchez in a trade for outfielder Melky Cabrera.
