Felix Francisco named Special Assignment Scout/International & Pro Scouting

KANSAS CITY — The Kansas City Royals today announced that Felix Francisco has been hired as the club’s Special Assignment Scout/International and Pro Scouting.

Francisco comes to Kansas City from the Houston Astros, where he worked as a Special Assistant to the General Manager/Latin American Operations since November of 2009.  Francisco also serves as the general manager of the Toros del Este in La Romana in the Dominican Winter League.

Prior to his time as a special assistant, he spent two seasons as the Astros’ Director of Latin American Scouting.  Francisco began his scouting career in 1995 as a part-time scout with the Atlanta Braves and was promoted as the club’s Dominican Republic scouting supervisor in 1998.  He assumed the same position with the San Diego Padres in 2001 and took over as the Padres’ Latin American scouting supervisor in 2004.
