SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Pitcher Everett Teaford's sore left shoulder is healing, but he's still sidelined.
"I don't get to throw until Tuesday, but I got to do baseball activities and everything feels good," Teaford said. "I tried to trick 'em, but they're way smarter than me."
Teaford, his shoulder feeling better, tried to confuse the trainers' count on their five-day no-throw edict so he could toss a day earlier, but they didn't bite.
"It's easier to take another day now than potentially later," Teaford conceded.
Even though he'll return to throwing, he'll be held out of the intrasquad games on Tuesday and Wednesday.
