Omaha opened with a road loss in Texas. Will Smith fanned 11 over five innings, falling one strikeout shy of his single-game high in 2010 with Wilmington. Smith allowed two runs, both in the third. Blue Springs native Nick Tepesch limited Omaha to an unearned run over five innings. Xavier Nady led the Storm Chasers with three hits, including a pair of doubles.

Northwest Arkansas was blanked on three hits in the season opener at Arvest Ballpark. Midland scored four unearned runs in the third off of Noel Arguelles, who allowed four runs on two hits and four walks with three strikeouts in three innings. Orlando Calixte, Rey Navarro and Yem Prades had singles for the Naturals. Blue Valley Northwest grad Jason Adam is scheduled to make his first Double-A start on Friday.

Wilmington at Myrtle Beach - Postponed
Wilmington's season opener at Myrtle Beach was rained out. Thursday's game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on May 25. Kyle Zimmer, The Royals' first round Draft pick in 2012, is scheduled to start Friday for the Blue Rocks.
Lexington at Augusta - Postponed
Lexington's inaugural game as a Royals affiliate was pushed back due to a rainy night in Georgia. A single game is scheduled for Friday, with a doubleheader on tap for Saturday.
