Omaha fell behind early in a third consecutive defeat at Round Rock. The Express solved Ryan Verdugo for seven runs (six earned) over 3 innings. Blaine Boyer followed with four strikeouts over 2.0 scoreless frames. Xavier Nady recorded two hits, an RBI and a run. He is 6-for-9 plus a walk on the young season.

NW Arkansas Naturals

Midland 5, NW Arkansas 1
LP: Sugar Ray Marimon (0-1)
HR: Brian Fletcher (1)

Northwest Arkansas was swept in a three-game set at home. Errors resulted in three unearned runs off Sugar Ray Marimon (5 2/3 innings, six hits, five runs, two earned runs, one walk, five strikeouts). Brian Fletcher supplied the lone run with a fourth-inning homer. Rey Navarro finished 2-for-3 with a double. The homestand continues Sunday against Frisco (Rangers).

Wilmington Blue Rocks

HR: None

Wilmington was held hitless until the sixth in a road loss. John Lamb (4 innings pitched, four hits, two earned runs, two walks, three strikeouts) allowed both of his runs in the fourth. Tim Ferguson finished 2-for-2 with a walk. Kenny Diekroeger and Jack Lopez added singles for the Blue Rocks.

Lexington lost a pair of 4-1 games at Augusta. Miguel Almonte allowed three unearned runs over 4 2/3 innings in game one. Fred Ford and Cam Gallagher recorded two hits each, with Ford driving in Lexington's only run. Humberto Arteaga was 2-for-3 with a run scored in game two.
