Omaha Storm Chasers

Nashville 8, Omaha 5

Omaha dropped to 1-1 in the four-game set at home. Nashville scored five in the third, with four runs charged to starter Everett Teaford (2 1/3 innings, four hits, three earned runs, one walk, four strikeouts). Colon was 2-for-5 with a two-run homer and three RBIs. David Lough added two hits and two runs. Sunday's game starts at 2:05 p.m. CT, with Brian Sanches (0-0, 3.60 ERA) on the mound for Omaha.

NW Arkansas Naturals

NW Arkansas 4, Midland 1
WP: Yordano Ventura (1-0)
SV: Nick Rogers (1)
HR: None

Ventura tossed five scoreless innings, leading Northwest Arkansas to the rubber-game victory. "Ace" scattered three hits and two walks while fanning seven. Angel Franco posted two hits and two RBIs. He is batting .448 (13-for-29) through his first eight games at the Double-A level. Northwest Arkansas is at Frisco (Rangers) Sunday.

Wilmington Blue Rocks

Frederick 6, Wilmington 4 (completion of Friday's game)

Wilmington 13, Frederick 1 (Saturday's game)
WP: John Lamb (1-1)

Wilmington fell short in the completion of Friday's game, then brought out the bats for a 13-1 win. Every position player had at least one hit, with Cheslor Cuthbert leading the way at 4-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Danny Mateo and Justin Trapp drove home three runs apiece. Lamb (five innings, two hits, one earned run, two walks, three strikeouts) picked up his first win since May 14, 2011, when he was a member of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals. Lamb underwent Tommy John surgery on June 3, 2011.

Lexington Legends

Lexington 6, Greenville 3
WP: Scott Alexander (1-0)
SV: Mark Peterson (2)
HR: Fred Ford (2)

Ford's three-run homer sparked a four-run third as Lexington won at home. Greenville scored all three runs in the top half of the third off of Colin Rodgers (3 2/3 innings, six hits, three earned runs, one walk, five strikeouts). Alexander followed with 4 1/3 frames of scoreless relief, allowing just a hit and a walk.
