Omaha Storm Chasers (22-22)

Omaha let a 5-3 lead slip away in a second straight loss to Tucson. Starter Will Smith struck out eight while yielding four runs on eight hits and two walks over 6.0 innings. Xavier Nady finished 2-for-3 with a solo homer and two RBI. He has hit safely in eight straight games at a .406 clip (13-for-32), lifting his season average to .342 (50-for-146). Anthony Seratelli walked three times and has reached safely in 12 consecutive games.

NW Arkansas Naturals (14-29)

Corpus Christi 8, Northwest Arkansas 2
LP: Yordano Ventura (3-2)
HR: None

Northwest Arkansas lost the first of three at Corpus Christi. Yordano Ventura allowed a season-high seven runs (six earned) on nine hits and three walks over 4.1 innings. Ventura had not permitted more than two earned runs in any of his first eight starts. His ERA jumped from 1.79 to 2.82 (14 ER in 44.2 IP). Manuel Pina posted three hits while Carlo Testa finished 2-for-3 plus a walk and a stolen base.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (21-24)

Lynchburg 5, Wilmington 1
LP: Kyle Zimmer (0-4)
HR: None

Wilmington lost at home as Lynchburg broken open a 1-1 game with one in the sixth and three in the seventh. Kyle Zimmer fanned seven while allowing five runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks over 6.0 innings. Danny Mateo recorded his team-leading 22nd RBI, tripling home Justin Trapp in the third.

Lexington Legends (24-22)

Asheville 3, Lexington 1
LP: Colin Rodgers (3-2)
HR: None

Lexington's four-game winning streak ended in the finale vs. Asheville. Fred Ford doubled home Bubba Starling to give the Legends a 1-0 lead in the first. Lexington posted leadoff hits in the second and third, but was held hitless from the third inning on. Asheville plated a pair in the third off of Colin Rodgers (4.0 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 4 BB, 3 SO).
