KANSAS CITY -- Danny Duffy, who underwent Tommy John surgery last June 13, will start his Minor League rehab assignment on Sunday.

Duffy will pitch four innings for Double-A Northwest Arkansas in San Antonio. A third-round Draft pick for the Royals in 2007, Duffy made 26 starts with a 6-10 record before he was placed on the disabled list last May.

"I'm wanting him to work it at his own pace," manager Ned Yost said. "He's doing really fine in his rehab and I want him to continue it and there will come a time down here in the near future where he is going to be ready. We will just wait for that time."

Felipe Paulino who had the same surgery last July 3, is currently in a throwing program at the team's Minor League facility in Surprise, Ariz.
