Omaha Storm Chasers (25-32)

Omaha lost a matinee to finish 1-4 vs. Memphis. Xavier Nady hit his team-leading 10th home run in the second. Everett Teaford went 5.0 innings, limiting the Redbirds to a lone run on a Jamie Romak homer in the fourth. Memphis scored the go-ahead run in the sixth off of Donnie Joseph. The Storm Chasers have an off day at home today before hosting Oklahoma City (Astros).

NW Arkansas Naturals (16-39)

Tulsa 5, NW Arkansas 3
LP: Brooks Pounders (1-4)
HR: Yem Prades (6), Matt Fields (12)

Northwest Arkansas dropped the series opener to Tulsa and former All-Star Roy Oswalt. The Naturals scored three runs over 7.0 innings against Oswalt, including solo homers by Yem Prades and Matt Fields. Rey Navarro added two hits. Brooks Pounders pitched 5.0 innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on two hits and four walks. The clubs play a matinee today in Tulsa, a night game on Thursday in Springdale and a night game back in Tulsa on Friday.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (29-29)

Wilmington 3, Carolina 1
WP: Cody Fassold (5-3)
HR: None

Wilmington won at home, scoring one in the seventh and two in the eighth. Cheslor Cuthbert tripled and scored the tying run on a double by Jack Lopez. Cuthbert singled home the go-ahead run an inning later. He finished 3-for-4 and is batting .333 (12-for-36) over his last 10 games. Kyle Smith tossed 7.0 strong innings, holding the Mudcats to a run on four hits and walk. A fourth-round pick in 2011, Smith is second in the league with a 1.92 ERA (13 ER in 61.0 IP).

Lexington Legends (30-28)

Savannah 9, Lexington 2
LP: Daniel Stumpf (3-4)
HR: None

A six-run second by Savannah was the difference in the series opener. Lexington built an early 2-0 lead as Raul Mondesi tripled home a run and scored on a ground out by Bubba Starling. Mondesi, 17, leads Lexington with 30 RBI. Daniel Stumpf's ERA rose to 2.81 (16 ER in 51.1 IP) as he allowed six runs in 4.0 innings of work.
