Danny Duffy named PCL Pitcher of the Week


Kansas City Royals minor league pitcher Danny Duffy today was named Pacific Coast League Pitcher the Week for June 24-30, as announced by the league office.

Duffy, 24, compiled a 2-0 mark over 10.2 scoreless innings for the Omaha Storm Chasers, Kansas City's Triple-A affiliate. The left-hander started and tossed 5.0 innings in a 2-0 win at Oklahoma City on June 25, then struck out seven over 5.2 innings of relief in Omaha's 3-0 victory over Iowa yesterday. Kansas City's third-round pick in the 2007 June Free Agent Draft, Duffy is returning from "Tommy John" surgery on June 13, 2012. He made a combined 26 starts with the Royals in 2011 and 2012.
