Omaha Storm Chasers (53-57)

Nashville 4, Omaha 2
LP: Justin Marks (4-11)
HR: Brian Fletcher (1 with Omaha, 13 overall)

The Chasers fell short in a bid for a four-game sweep. Starter Justin Marks allowed three runs, six hits and six walks over 6.0 innings. Brian Fletcher recorded both RBI for Omaha in his Triple-A debut. Fletcher's sac fly in the first plated Irving Falu. He followed with a leadoff home run in the fourth. Fletcher won Texas League Player of the Week honors last week with Northwest Arkansas, going 13-for-27.

NW Arkansas Naturals (21-17 2nd half, 46-62 overall)

LP: Aaron Brooks (5-4)
HR: None

Northwest Arkansas lost game one at North Little Rock as the Travelers broke a 1-1 tie with three in the fifth. Aaron Brooks worked 7.0 innings, allowing four runs on nine hits and no walks. Lane Adams doubled and scored on Angel Franco's single in the fifth. Orlando Calixte added a single for the Naturals.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (16-21 2nd half, 49-58 overall)

Wilmington 4, Carolina 3
WP: Leonel Santiago (2-1)
SV: Andrew Triggs (8)
HR: None

Jared Schlehuber's two-run single capped a three-run fifth as Wilmington moved to 1-1 vs. Carolina. Geulin Beltre added two hits and a run for the Blue Rocks. Leonel Santiago worked 5.2 innings, yielding three runs (two earned) on seven hits and four walks. Cory Hall and Andrew Triggs recorded 1.2 scoreless innings apiece.

Lexington Legends (23-14 2nd half, 56-49 overall)

Kannapolis 10, Lexington 5
LP: Crawford Simmons (1-2)
HR: Mark Threlkeld (4), Nic Cuckovich (1)

Lexington lost the opener as Kannapolis built an early 6-0 lead. The Intimidators scored five unearned runs, all during Crawford Simmons' start (5.2 IP, 6 H, 7 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 6 SO, 2 HR). Mark Threlkeld posted three RBI, including a two-run homer in the third. Bubba Starling added a double, a walk and his 16th stolen base.

Idaho Falls Chukars (19-18)

Idaho Falls 8, Orem 7
WP: Patrick Conroy (3-0)
SV: Julio Rodriguez (1)
HR: None

The Chukars have won three straight and six of their last seven. Zane Evans continued his hot hitting, finishing 2-for-4 with three RBI. The fourth-round pick is batting .354 (29-for-82). Converted catcher Julio Rodriguez recorded two outs for his first professional save.

Burlington Royals (17-20)

Greeneville 4, Burlington 3 (11 innings)
LP: Jake Newberry (1-1)
HR: Sam Bates (7)

Burlington took a tough loss as Greeneville tied the game on a two-out homer in the ninth and walked off in 11 innings. Sam Bates doubled, homered and drove in all three runs for the Royals. He leads the Appalachian League with seven home runs and is second in RBI (25). Sam Lewis limited the Astros to a run on three hits and two walks over 6.0 innings.

Surprise Royals (3-1 2nd half, 13-19 overall)

Surprise 8, Arizona Mariners 1
WP: Ryan Verdugo (2-0)
SV: Austin Fairchild (1)
HR: None

Pedro Fernandez struck out nine over 4.1 scoreless stanzas to lead Surprise past the M's. Ryan Verdugo (1.2 IP) picked up his second win in as many rehab appearances. Jecksson Flores doubled home three to kick off a six-run second for the Royals. He scored on a two-run single by Alfredo Patino.
