Royals Alumni Association gives back to Kansas City community


KANSAS CITY, MO (December 19, 2013) - The Kansas City Royals Alumni Association is helping make Christmas brighter through local charity and community programs by donating a total of $24,000 this holiday season. 

The following 12 programs received donations from the Alumni Association: Can We Talk, Children's Mercy Hospital, Cross Point Church/Alums, Grace Church, Rainbow Center, House of Hope, The Kimberlie Jo Patek Foundation, Operation Breakthrough, St. Anne's Episcapal Church for Hillcrest, The Spencer C. Duncan Make It Count Project and the Wounded Warrior Project.

Throughout the year, Royals Alumni donate their time to help raise money for the foundation to help area families in need. The two largest fundraising events are the Royals Alumni Batting Practices at Kauffman Stadium and the Royals Alumni Fantasy Camp located in Surprise, Ariz. The Royals Alumni Association is made up of former players, managers, trainers and coaches.
