SURPRISE, Ariz. - Eight-time Gold Glove winner Frank White is going to see if he can scoop up some votes.
The Kansas City Star reports that White, second baseman on the World Series winners of 1985, will run for the Jackson County Legislature. He'll seek an at-large seat in an area that includes part of Kansas City.
White, 63, was with all seven of the postseason teams, including two World Series appearances, in Royals history. He was a five-time All-Star and spent his entire career, 1973-90, in Kansas City where he grew up.
He was inducted into the Royals Hall of Fame and had his number 20 retired in 1995. He's also been a Royals coach, Minor League manager and TV broadcaster.
