Francisco Pena's homer in the second gave Omaha a 2-0 lead. Christian Colon added two hits, an RBI and a run. Matt Fields singled, extending his hitting streak to a career-high 12 games (.432, 19-for-44).

The Naturals played 20 innings of baseball on Tuesday as the second contest went 13 innings instead of the scheduled seven. Midland scored five in the 13th off of infielder Jared Schlehuber. Starter Tim Melville tossed 5.0 shutout innings, allowing just one hit and three walks while striking out five. Jorge Bonifacio recorded three hits, including a double. Northwest Arkansas was held to one hit in the first game, a fifth inning single by Justin Trapp. Jason Adam pitched 4.0 innings, allowing the lone run on two hits and three walks.
