The Storm Chasers poured it on late, scoring 14 runs over their final three turns. The rout snapped a six-game skid in the season series against New Orleans. Jimmy Paredes had an incredible night, completing the first cycle in Werner Park history (order: home run, triple, double, single). He hit a grand slam in the fourth and drove in eight. Brett Eibner scored five times while 15th-ranked prospect Christian Colon posted three hits, two RBIs and four runs. Aaron Brooks tossed six scoreless innings, striking out four.

NW Arkansas Naturals (15-22)

NW Arkansas 6, Arkansas 5 (12 innings)

Whit Merrifield doubled home Ethan Chapman in the 12th, lifting Northwest Arkansas to an opening win on the road. Arkansas scored four in the first, with the Naturals posting a four-run fifth. Both teams scored once in the 10th. Lane Adams and Edinson Rincon recorded two hits and two RBIs apiece. Eighth-ranked Royals prospect Jason Adam settled in after the first, striking out four while allowing the four runs, three hits and five walks over six innings. Noel Arguelles tossed two perfect innings for the relief win.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (16-19)

Wilmington 4, Salem 3

Jack Lopez hit his first homer of 2014 at the perfect time, sending a Monday night crowd home happy on a two-run, walk-off blast. Former first-round picks Hunter Dozier and Bubba Starling each drove in a run. Dozier is ranked sixth among Royals prospects by MLB.com, with Starling seventh. Fifth-ranked prospect Miguel Almonte struck out seven and walked none, scattering three runs and six hits over six innings. John Walter (two ininngs, one hit) and Zeb Sneed (one inning, one hit) held Salem scoreless in relief. It was the seventh one-run game over the last nine contests for Wilmington. They are 3-4 in the one-run contests.

Lexington Legends (16-21)

Lexington 7, Greensboro 3

HR: Chad Johnson (2), Dominique Taylor (2)

Lexington evened a road set at 1-1. Luis Santos (six innings, five hits, three runs, two earned runs, one walk, four strikeouts) earned the win, with Luke Farrell retiring nine straight for the save. Dominique Taylor was a triple shy of the cycle, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs. Chad Johnson added a solo homer.
