Yost quickly decided to challenge, and after a review of 2 minutes and 15 seconds, the call was overturned. Dyson became the sixth of eight consecutive Royals to reach base to start the inning, which saw Kansas City score seven runs for a 7-0 lead.
After the game, Scherzer said he could tell from the replay board that Dyson was safe, and felt that the decision could have come sooner.

Scherzer added that the time between the review and the final call had no impact on his performance.
