Third-ranked Royals prospect Jorge Bonifacio added two hits, two RBI and two runs. He hit a solo homer in the seventh, with Angel Franco adding his own in the eighth. Mark Threlkeld was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Andy Ferguson struck out four while scattering two runs, eight hits and two walks over 7.2 innings.

Thursday is Opening Night in the Appalachian League, with Burlington at Pulaski (Mariners). Carlos Herrera is scheduled to start for the Royals. The 20-year old lefty was a combined 8-2 with the Dominican and Surprise Royals in 2013.
