Northwest Arkansas had a four-game winning streak snapped as Tulsa rallied from a 5-3 deficit. Starter Tim Melville struck out six while yielding five runs (four earned), seven hits and three walks over 5.0 innings. Tulsa's Jon Gray worked around five runs to defeat the Naturals for a fifth time in 2014. 19th-ranked Royals prospect Cheslor Cuthbert recorded a solo homer and an RBI double. 2013 first-rounder and Royals sixth-ranked prospect Hunter Dozier (2-for-5, run, 2 RBI) posted his first hit, run and RBI at the Double-A level.

Wilmington dropped to 0-2 at Myrtle Beach. Fourth-ranked Royals prospect Sean Manaea fanned six while allowing three runs, four hits and two walks over 5.0 innings plus two batters. Yender Caramo followed with 2.0 perfect innings, striking out three. Number seven prospect Bubba Starling led the offense, going 3-for-5 with a double and both runs.

Chad Johnson's sac fly in the seventh plated Mauricio Ramos for the lone run. 10th-ranked prospect Elier Hernandez posted two hits, including a double that set up the sac fly.

The Chukars lost their first road game of 2014 as Grand Junction's Luis Castro hit a two-run walk-off homer in the 10th. Brawlun Gomez was 2-for-5 with a triple and two runs. DonAndre Clark added two hits, a walk and a run. Torey Deshazier worked 5.2 innings in relief, striking out four and allowing three unearned runs.

Burlington dropped a second straight as Pulaski plated three runs in both the third and fourth. 2014 Competitive Balance pick Chase Vallot recorded both his professional first hit and RBI on a two-run single in the sixth. 17-year old Marten Gasparini doubled twice and scored two runs. The 20th-ranked Royals prospect is 5-for-10 through two games.
