Omaha Storm Chasers (41-34)

The Storm Chasers lost their first game against the PCL's newest club. The Chihuahuas slugged four home runs, with former Royal Jeff Francoeur hitting a go-ahead grand slam in the third. Matt Fields was 4-for-4 with a pair of solo homers. He's batting .322 (37-for-115) at Werner Park and .212 (25-for-118) on the road. 15th-ranked Royals prospect Christian Colon added two hits and a run, extending his hitting streak to 10 games (.385, 15-for-39). He has boosted his season average from .275 to .291.

NW Arkansas Naturals (3-2 second half, 28-47 overall)

Tulsa 4, NW Arkansas 3
LP: Ali Williams (2-1)
HR: None

Northwest Arkansas lost a second straight vs. Tulsa. The Drillers hit three solo homers, with Taylor Featherston's second the difference. Naturals starter J.C. Sulbaran allowed three runs, five hits and a walk and eight strikeouts over 6 innings. 19th-ranked Royals prospect Cheslor Cuthbert was 2-for-4 with an RBI double. Angel Franco added two hits and a run.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (1-2 second half, 34-37 overall)

Wilmington 8, Myrtle Beach 7
WP: Kyle Bartsch (5-3)
SV: Mark Peterson (14)
HR: Daniel Rockett (1), Zane Evans (1)

16th-ranked Royals prospect Zane Evans hit a two-run homer in the ninth, lifting Wilmington to a road win. Number two prospect Raul Mondesi was 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, three runs and a stolen base. Seventh-ranked Royals prospect Bubba Starling added two hits, two RBIs and two runs. Daniel Rockett was 2-for-4 with his first home run of 2014.

Lexington Legends (1-2 second half, 30-43 overall)

Delmarva 2, Lexington 1
LP: Luke Farrell (1-7)
HR: Frank Schwindel (11)

Lexington dropped to 1-2 at Delmarva. Luke Farrell pitched well in defeat, holding the Shorebirds to two unearned runs and seven hits over 7 IP. He struck out three and did not issue a walk. Frank Schwindel was 2-for-4 with his team-leading 11th homer. Mauricio Ramos had two doubles. He's batting .400 (14-for-35) over his last 10 games.

Idaho Falls Chukars (2-4)

Idaho Falls 12, Grand Junction 4
WP: Brandon Thomas (1-0)
HR: Ryan O'Hearn (1), Pedro Gonzalez (1)

The Chukars recorded a season-high 12 runs in a road win. 2014 eighth-round pick Ryan O'Hearn led the way, going 5-for-5 with his first professional home run, two RBIs and three runs. The first baseman played at Sam Houston State. Pedro Gonzalez added a three-run homer in the sixth. Alexis Rivera had three hits, two RBI and two runs.

Burlington Royals (0-3)

Pulaski 4, Burlington 0
LP: Christian Flecha (0-1)
HR: None

The B-Royals were swept in the season's first series. Christian Flecha struck out six while allowing three runs (two earned) over 3.1 innings. Chase Darhower held the M's to a run over 3.0 innings of relief. Chase Vallot led the Royals with two hits, including a double. Burlington is at Bristol (Pirates) tonight.
