MINNEAPOLIS -- Outfielder Lane Adams was named the Player of the Week in the Texas League for the week ending June 29.
Adams -- a 24-year old selected by the Royals in the 13th round of the 2009 Draft -- hit .429/.458/1.095 for Double-A Northwest Arkansas this past week. He capped the stretch with a 3-for-4 performance on Sunday night that included a go-ahead triple in the eighth inning of the Naturals' 8-6 win over Frisco.
Entering Monday, Adams' batting average was .256. He's hitting a combined .252 over his past two seasons (449 at-bats) at the Double-A level.
