Royals to hold annual 5K Run/Walk


CLEVELAND -- Want to go where Alex Gordon and Lorenzo Cain track down fly balls?

That can happen if you take part in Royals Charities' annual 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Aug. 2. The course includes the warning track in the Kauffman Stadium playing field.

The event benefits the Variety Children's Charity of Greater Kansas City. Registration for $35 is available at www.royals.com/run.

Participants can also register during packet pickup hours from noon to 8 p.m. CT on Friday, Aug. 1, at UltraMax Sports in Prairie Village, Kan., for at Rivals Sports Bar at the stadium from 6-7 a.m. CT prior to the 8 a.m. race the following day.

Racers will receive a View Level infield voucher, valued at $18, which can be redeemed for a Royals home game, excluding those against the Giants, Yankees or Red Sox.
