Omaha Storm Chasers (45-43)

Omaha lost the opener as Colorado Springs hit three solo home runs. John Lamb struck out seven while yielding five runs (four earned), seven hits and two walks through 5.0 innings. Spencer Patton fanned five over 2.0 innings plus a batter, allowing one home run. Tim Collins tossed 2.0 scoreless innings, striking out two and walking a pair. Jimmy Paredes and Carlos Peguero posted two hits apiece. Paul Janish was 1-for-3 plus a walk in his Omaha debut.

NW Arkansas Naturals (7-8 second half, 32-53 overall)

Midland 6, NW Arkansas 0
LP: Sam Selman (3-6)
HR: None

Northwest Arkansas dropped the rubber game vs. Midland. The RockHounds scored in each inning from the third to the sixth. 12th-ranked Royals prospect Sam Selman struck out six over 4.1 innings, allowing five runs. Matt Murray tossed 3.0 scoreless frames, scattering two hits while striking out four. Third-ranked Royals prospect Jorge Bonifacio recorded two singles. The homestand continues on Saturday vs. Frisco.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (7-8 second half, 40-43 overall)

Wilmington 5, Winston-Salem 0
WP: Glenn Sparkman (4-2)
HR: Bubba Starling (6)

Glenn Sparkman carried a no-hitter through 6.1 innings, leading Wilmington to an opening win at Winston-Salem. The righty struck out nine over a career-high 7.0 innings, allowing just one hit. He has a 1.13 ERA since moving to the rotation, with Wilmington 7-1 in his starts. Michael Antonio recorded three hits, an RBI and a run. Seventh-ranked Royals prospect Bubba Starling hit a two-run homer and has slugged five of his six roundtrippers on the road. Mark Threlkeld was 2-for-4 with two runs.

Lexington Legends (5-11 second half, 34-52 overall)

Asheville 7, Lexington 6
LP: Matt Alvarez (3-3)
HR: Kenny Diekroeger (1)

Lexington dropped game one at Asheville on a walk-off single in the ninth. Kenny Diekroeger's home run started a four-run rally that tied the game at 6-6 in the seventh. Carlos Garcia went 3-for-5 with a triple, an RBI and two runs. Fred Ford added an RBI double, a walk and a run.

Idaho Falls Chukars (9-10)

Idaho Falls 8, Ogden 4
WP: Eric Stout (1-0)
HR: Mike Hill (1)

Idaho Falls moved to 3-2 in a weeklong home-and-home series. The Chukars took a 6-3 lead with five in the fourth. Mike Hill's two-run homer tied the game at 3-3. It was the first professional home run for Hill, KC's 22nd round pick in June. Luis Valenzuela recorded three hits and three runs. Eric Stout (3.0 IP, 1 R) earned his first professional win.

Burlington Royals (7-8)

Burlington 7, Danville 2
WP: Chase Darhower (1-0)
HR: None

Burlington broke open a 2-2 game with five in the eighth. Cristian Cano was 2-for-4 with the go-ahead RBI and a run. Logan Moon added three hits and two RBI. Christian Flecha struck out five over 5.0 innings, allowing two runs on a homer in the third. Chase Darhower (3.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 SO) picked up the relief win, his first in the pro ranks.
