Sulbaran (6.0 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 6 SO) won in relief of Christian Binford (2.0 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 0 SO), who will participate in Sunday's All-Star Futures Game.

Fourth-ranked prospect Sean Manaea struck out seven while allowing three runs (two earned) over 5.0 innings. 15th-ranked Royals prospect Zane Evans hit a solo home run. Game two was suspended in the sixth inning due to rain. 2014 first-rounder Brandon Finnegan made his professional debut, retiring all six batters with one strikeout over 2.0 innings. Veteran Blake Wood followed with 2.0 perfect innings, striking out three.

Lexington's four-game winning streak was snapped in the opener vs. Hagerstown. Alfredo Escalera tripled, scored a run and finished with three hits. Kevin Perez tossed 3.0 scoreless innings, scattering two hits while striking out a pair.
