Pena surpassed Fields for the team lead in homers. He's tied for second in the Pacific Coast League. No. 8 prospect Adam made his Triple-A debut in relief, allowing two runs over 1 2/3 innings.

Ferguson posted the second nine-inning shutout of 2014 in the Texas League, leading Northwest Arkansas to a second straight win. The righty scattered four hits and two walks while striking out four. Angel Franco's triple in the fifth plated Ethan Chapman for the game's first run. Franco scored the second run on Orlando Calixte's sacrifice fly. No. 9 prospect Calixte added two hits and a stolen base.

Wilmington made a late rally before dropping the opener. Miguel Almonte allowed five runs, seven hits and two walks while striking out three over five innings. Daniel Stumpf followed with two perfect innings, striking out three. No. 7 prospect Bubba Starling put Wilmington on the board with a solo homer in the first. He added two walks and a second run. No. 20 prospect Ramon Torres was 3-for-4 with a double and a run.
