Omaha held Memphis scoreless after the first to earn an opening win. Buddy Baumann (4.0 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 SO) made the start, with Michael Mariot (1.0 IP), Louis Coleman (2.0 IP) and Casey Coleman (2.0 IP) posting scoreless outings. Christian Colon scored the go-ahead run, finishing 3-for-5 plus an RBI. He is ranked 14th among Royals prospects by MLB.com.

NW Arkansas Naturals (15-16 second half, 40-61 overall)

WP: Christian Binford (2-1 with NW Arkansas, 7-5 overall)

Christian Binford led the Naturals to an opening win over Arkansas. The 11th-ranked Royals prospect fanned seven while scattering two runs (one earned), six hits and a walk over 7.0 innings. He has a 2.74 ERA (7 ER in 23.0 IP) with the Naturals. Mitch Maier made his season debut, going 2-for-4 with a double and two runs. The veteran spent parts of six Major League seasons with the Royals. Third-ranked Royals prospect Jorge Bonifacio added three hits, an RBI and a run. Micah Gibbs had two doubles and two RBI.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (15-15 second half, 48-50 overall)

The Blue Rocks recorded their league-leading 11th shutout in a matinee vs. Lynchburg. 2014 first-round pick Brandon Finnegan struck out four while holding the Hillcats to one hit over 3.0 innings. Blake Wood (2.0 IP), John Walter (2.2 IP) and Mark Peterson (1.1 IP) completed the shutout. Jack Lopez was 2-for-4, scoring the lone run in the first.

Lexington Legends (11-20 second half, 40-61 overall)

Lexington at Savannah - Postponed due to rain

Lexington's finale at Savannah was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up during the July 26-29 series in Lexington.

Idaho Falls Chukars (18-16)

HR: None

The Chukars lost a high-scoring game as Great Falls catcher Dillon Haupt hit a go-ahead grand slam in the eighth. Brandon Downes posted four hits, two RBI and a run for Idaho Falls. Corey Toups had two hits, two walks, an RBI and two runs while Kyle Pollock drove in two.

Burlington Royals (13-16)

Elizabethton 4, Burlington 3
LP: Dylan Sons (1-1)
HR: Leland Clemmons (1)

Burlington lost a back-and-forth rubber game. The Royals took a 3-2 lead with three in the third, including a two-run homer from Leland Clemmons. The outfielder was playing in his second professional game after signing a free agent contract last week out of Winston-Salem State.
