The Storm Chasers dropped a game on division-leading Iowa (60-54) with a home loss to Memphis. Paulo Orlando recorded three hits, including a double. Peguero hit a solo homer in the fourth and Whit Merrifield singled home two in the sixth. Baumann (four innings, seven hits, four earned runs, one walk, one strikeout) took the loss. Tim Collins struck out the side in a 1-2-3 ninth.

Northwest Arkansas lost Game 1 at Tulsa. Sulbaran fanned six and walked none, however, he allowed six runs over three-plus innings (he faced four hitters in the fourth). Malcom Culver (two innings), Mark Peterson (two innings) and Blake Wood (one inning) posted scoreless relief outings. Cuthbert reached base three times, and he drove in all of the Northwest Arkansas runs on a homer in the eighth.
Wilmington Blue Rocks (19-19 second half, 52-54 overall)

Wilmington scored three in the sixth to take a 6-4 lead on Thursday, only to lose 4-3 as rain stopped play, and the game reverted back to the last completed inning. Michael Antonio, Zane Evans, Cam Gallagher and Daniel Rockett had two hits apiece. Gallagher, Rockett and Terrance Gore each drove in a run. Evans had a go-ahead, two-run single washed away.

Burlington lost the opener of a three-game set. Joshua Banuelos and Logan Moon had two hits apiece. Moon has hit in seven straight games (.393, 11-for-28). The Blue Springs native is batting .313 overall. 2013 third-round pick Hope struck out six while allowing five runs over six innings.
