KANSAS CITY -- KCK RBI of Kansas City, Kan., wrapped up the tournament round, Senior Division, of the Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities World Series with a pair of victories at Colleyville, Texas. They came from behind to beat the Houston Astros' RBI team, 15-11, on Friday night and then topped the Angels' RBI team, 9-7, on Saturday morning.
KCK catcher Corey Cowan's two-run double in the sixth inning Friday pulled his team ahead to stay, erasing a six-run deficit. Center fielder and leadoff man Samuel Davis was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs.
On Saturday, KCK surged to a seven-run lead by scoring six runs in the second, with RBI singles from Alberto Ramos, Davis and Stay'Jawn Hunter and a two-run homer by first baseman Isaiah Campbell. After the Angels team rallied to tie it, KCK scored two runs in the seventh without recording a hit. Two hit batters and a walk loaded the bases, and a balk and an error plated a pair.
KCK finished tournament play 2-1 and will kick off the playoff elimination rounds Sunday.
