Johnny Giavotella's heroics led Omaha to a road win. He entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the ninth, delivering a game-tying single, and followed with a go-ahead homer in the 12th. Whit Merrifield was 3-for-5 with two doubles, a walk and a run. Casey Coleman (4.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 3 BB, 3 SO) earned the win in relief.

The Naturals earned a series win at home. Matt Murray held the Missions to a run on five hits and no walks over 5.0 innings, striking out three. Sixth-ranked Royals prospect Brandon Finnegan followed with 2.0 scoreless innings. He has allowed a lone run over 19.0 professional innings. Mitch Maier was 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run. He doubled home the tying run in the fourth and scored the go-ahead tally on Orlando Calixte's double. Calixte is ranked 12th among Royals prospects by MLB.com.

Wilmington fell short in a bid for a three-game road sweep. The Blue Rocks were no-hit until the seventh, when top-ranked Royals prospect Raul Mondesi hit his third home run in as many days. Logan Davis added an RBI triple in the eighth. Jonathan Dziedzic allowed three runs, seven hits, a walk and two strikeouts over 4.0 innings. He remains third in the league with a 2.58 ERA. The clubs will now play three games in Wilmington.

Lexington settled for a 2-2 series split with Greenville. Luke Farrell struck out nine over 6.2 innings, allowing four runs, six hits and a walk. Elier Hernandez, Chad Johnson, Frank Schwindel and Dominique Taylor recorded singles. The Legends are at Kannapolis (White Sox) tonight.
