KANSAS CITY -- Royals manager Ned Yost said Thursday that while Eric Hosmer's fractured right hand was "healing nicely," he won't resume swinging a bat for another week.

The announcement comes after Hosmer, who was placed on the disabled list on Aug. 1, had a CT scan before Kansas City's 7-3 win Thursday.

When the Royals put him on the DL, Hosmer's recovery time was a projected three to six weeks.

The first baseman is hitting .267/.312/.377 in 104 games this season.
