The Storm Chasers won a second straight, finishing 2-2 at Tacoma. Johnny Giavotella stole home in the first, with Paulo Orlando taking second on the play. Seattle native Matt Fields gave Omaha a 2-1 lead with an RBI double in the seventh, then hit a solo homer in the ninth. Aaron Brooks went the distance, allowing a lone run in the fourth. He scattered six hits, a walk and four strikeouts.

A five-run fifth by the Travelers resulted in an opening defeat for Northwest Arkansas. Sugar Ray Marimon (4.0 IP+3, 7 H, 5 ER, 3 BB, 3 SO) took the loss. 2014 first-round pick and sixth-ranked Royals prospect Brandon Finnegan posted a 1-2-3 sixth. Mark Threlkeld hit a two-run homer, his second in three days.

Wilmington's game at Salem was suspended halfway through the sixth, shortly after Fred Ford's three-run homer gave the Blue Rocks a 4-2 lead. The game was delayed for two hours and 35 minutes at the outset. Thirteenth-ranked Royals prospect Bubba Starling recorded two hits and an RBI in his first three at-bats. Jonathan Dziedzic (5.0 IP, 8 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 5 SO) carried a shutout into the fifth.

Lexington won a second straight at Augusta. Sixteenth-ranked Royals prospect Elier Hernandez went 4-for-5 with a run, extending his hitting streak to seven games (.586, 17-for-29). Matt Tenuta tossed 6.0 shutout innings, allowing just two hits with four strikeouts.

The Chukars were postponed in their opener at Orem, the first of eight matchups in a home-and-home series. The game is scheduled to be made up as part of a doubleheader on Monday.

Burlington fell short in a bid for a three-game sweep. Blue Springs native Logan Moon was a home run from the cycle as he reached base four times with three hits, a walk and a run. He's batting .323 (64-for-198) on the year. Leland Clemmons scored Burlington's first run, then hit a two-run homer in the sixth.
