Six Royals to compete for the Peoria Javalinas in 2014 Arizona Fall League

The Arizona Fall League and the Kansas City Royals announced that six players from the Royals' organization will compete for the Peoria Javalinas in the 2014 Arizona Fall League today. Prospects from the Royals, Braves, Indians, Cardinals and Rays organizations will make up this year's Peoria squad, which will be led by Northwest Arkansas (AA) manager Vance Wilson

The Royals prospects to compete for Peoria this fall will be: outfielder Bubba Starling, shortstop Raul Mondesi, third baseman Hunter Dozier, left-handed pitcher Sam Selman and right-handed pitchers Miguel Almonte and Ali Williams.

2014 marks the 23rd season of the Arizona Fall League, which was created by Major League baseball in 1992 to serve as an off-season league for top prospects. The fall season will begin on Tuesday, October 7 this year and run through November 13. The Rising Stars Game is set for Saturday, November 1, while the league championship contest is scheduled for Saturday, November 15.
