KANSAS CITY, MO (August 26, 2014) - The Kansas City Royals remind fans that the Sunday, August 31 game against the Cleveland Indians at Kauffman Stadium will begin at 7:07 p.m. (CDT) to accommodate ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball broadcast. The game, originally scheduled for a 1:10 p.m. start, will be televised nationally on ESPN2 and will feature Dan Shulman providing the play-by-play and John Kruk and Buster Olney serving as analysts.
As part of the festivities, the Royals are urging fans to "Bring Your Blue!" and fill Kauffman Stadium with a sea of Royal blue on Sunday to show team pride to the national viewing audience. Fans are encouraged to dress in blue from head to toe and pass the word along to friends and family as the Royals continue a push for the 2014 Postseason. In addition, fans can use the #BringYourBlue hashtag in social media posts.
The last time the Royals hosted ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball was June 16, 1996.
August 31 will remain a Family FunDay Sunday with activities for kids of all ages, as well as KU Night presented by FOX Sports Kansas City and Rally House. The first 2,000 Jayhawk fans will receive a limited edition crimson and blue KC Royals Kansas cap.
Gates will now open at 5:30 p.m. for the 7:07 p.m. first pitch.
