Northwest Arkansas lost the series opener as Tulsa scored two unearned runs in the ninth. Starter Matt Murray fanned six without a walk over 7.1 innings. He allowed three runs in the first, then held Tulsa scoreless until yielding a run in the eighth. Juan Graterol and Parker Morin hit back-to-back homers in the seventh. Graterol also had a two-run double in the second. Lane Adams recorded his 35th stolen base.

Wilmington dropped game one vs. Potomac, with all of the scoring in the fifth. Miguel Almonte held the Nats to a hit and a walk while striking out seven over 4.0 innings. The righty is ranked fifth among Royals prospects by MLB.com. Frank Schwindel scored Wilmington's run on a force out by Jack Lopez.

Elier Hernandez was 2-for-4 with an RBI single. The 16th-ranked Royals prospect has hit in nine straight games at a .594 clip (22-for-37). His eight-game stretch of a scoring at least one run was snapped.

Lee's Summit North product Brandon Dulin hit a two-run homer.
