Omaha Storm Chasers (74-67)

HR: Whit Merrifield (3), Matt Fields 2 (26, 27), Brett Hayes (3), Cheslor Cuthbert (2 with Omaha, 12 overall)

Eric Hosmer's ninth-inning single lifted Omaha to a walk-off win. KC's first baseman was 2-for-6 with two RBIs in the first game of a rehab assignment. The Storm Chasers hit five home runs, including a pair of solo shots by Matt Fields. Brett Hayes was a triple shy of the cycle as he drove in four runs.

NW Arkansas Naturals (28-39 second half, 53-85 overall)

Arkansas 3, NW Arkansas 1
LP: Tripp Davis (0-3 with NW Arkansas, 3-5 overall)
HR: Brian Fletcher (5 with NW Arkansas, 7 overall)

Northwest Arkansas opened the season's final series with a 3-1 loss. Arkansas scored one in the first and two in the fifth off of Tripp Davis (4.1 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 1 SO). Brian Fletcher paced the Naturals with two hits, including a solo homer in the seventh. He added a stolen base.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (31-36 second half, 64-71 overall)

Salem 5, Wilmington 1 (Game 1 -- seven innings)
LP: Glenn Sparkman (8-3)
HR: Brett Eibner (1 with Wilmington, 8 overall)

Salem 3, Wilmington 0 (Game 2 -- seven innings)

Wilmington opened the final set of 2014 with a pair of seven-inning losses. Salem scored three in the first inning of Game 1 against Glenn Sparkman (5.0 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 4 SO). Brett Eibner hit a solo homer in the seventh. Game 2 was scoreless until the seventh, when the Sox plated three off of Wilmington's bullpen. Luis Santos tossed 5 1/3 innings, scattering three hits with four strikeouts.

Lexington Legends (27-41 second half, 56-82 overall)

Greenville 4, Lexington 2
LP: Pedro Fernandez (1-8)
HR: Kenny Diekroeger (5 with Lexington, 6 overall)

Lexington lost a second straight game at Greenville. Pedro Fernandez (4.1 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 6 SO) allowed two in the fourth and one in the fifth. The Legends scored both runs in the seventh. Kenny Diekroeger posted the first tally with a solo homer. Carlos Garcia was 3-for-4 with a run.

Idaho Falls Chukars (15-18 second half, 35-36 overall)

Idaho Falls 5, Orem 1
WP: Eric Stout (5-2)
HR: None

The Chukars wrapped up an eight-game home-and-home set with a win. 2012 first-rounder Kyle Zimmer tossed a scoreless first, striking out two with one walk. Eric Stout (3.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 SO) earned the win. Brawlun Gomez was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run.
