Eric Hosmer's ninth-inning single lifted Omaha to a walk-off win. KC's first baseman was 2-for-6 with two RBIs in the first game of a rehab assignment. The Storm Chasers hit five home runs, including a pair of solo shots by Matt Fields. Brett Hayes was a triple shy of the cycle as he drove in four runs.

Northwest Arkansas opened the season's final series with a 3-1 loss. Arkansas scored one in the first and two in the fifth off of Tripp Davis (4.1 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 1 SO). Brian Fletcher paced the Naturals with two hits, including a solo homer in the seventh. He added a stolen base.

Wilmington opened the final set of 2014 with a pair of seven-inning losses. Salem scored three in the first inning of Game 1 against Glenn Sparkman (5.0 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 4 SO). Brett Eibner hit a solo homer in the seventh. Game 2 was scoreless until the seventh, when the Sox plated three off of Wilmington's bullpen. Luis Santos tossed 5 1/3 innings, scattering three hits with four strikeouts.

Lexington lost a second straight game at Greenville. Pedro Fernandez (4.1 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 6 SO) allowed two in the fourth and one in the fifth. The Legends scored both runs in the seventh. Kenny Diekroeger posted the first tally with a solo homer. Carlos Garcia was 3-for-4 with a run.
