Split the season between Kansas City and Miami, while also playing with the Marlins' Triple-A club in New Orleans…Hit a combined .160 (8-for-50) with no home runs or RBI in 24 games at the major league level... Started the season with the Royals after making his third consecutive Opening Day roster...Appeared in six games with Kansas City and hit .176 (3-for-17) before the club designated him for assignment on 5/10... The Marlins claimed him on 5/17 and he made his Miami debut the next day at LAD…Appeared in 15 games for the Marlins, going 5-for-33 (.152) and making eight starts at third base and two starts at second base... Christian made his Major League debut on July 2 and had three separate stints with the Royals...He also played in 86 games at Triple-A Omaha...Collected three hits twice with Kansas City, including on July 4 at Cleveland...With two doubles and a triple in that game, he became the second Royal to record 3 extra-base hits in their first Major League start, joining Mark Quinn who hit two homers and doubled vs. the Angels on September 14, 1999...He also recorded three hits, a run scored and his first steal on August 14 vs. Oakland...Fractured the distal tip of the middle finger on his right hand on September 2 vs. Texas and was placed on the disabled list September 17 (retroactive to Sept. 7)...Activated from the 15-day D.L. on September 28, and went 2-for-2 with a two-run double in the season-finale at Chicago...Hit .311 (107-for-344) with 18 doubles, 8 homers, 55 runs scored and a .366 on-base percentage at Omaha...Batted .337 (28-for-83) with 4 doubles, a homer and 12 runs scored, earning his first call-up June 30...Collected three hits in a game nine times, while he recorded his first multi-homer game July 17 vs. New Orleans...Batted .319 (61-for-191) with a .435 slugging percentage (10 doubles, 4 homers) away from Werner Park.

2013

Christian was named Omaha (AAA) Player of the Year by the Royals organization, spending the entire year with the Storm Chasers... Ranked eighth in the Pacific Coast League with a career-high 140 hits...also set career highs in games (131), at bats(512), runs scored (72), homers (12) and total bases (194)... Helped lead Omaha to PCL and Triple-A Championships, going 6-for-27 (.222) with two doubles, a homer and four runs scored in the postseason... Following the season, hit .284 (25-for-88) for Ponce in the Puerto Rican Winter League.

2012 Christian had a solid second full season of professional baseball and was both a Texas League All-Star and named Northwest Arkansas Player of the Year by the Royals organization...Was promoted to Omaha (AAA) in August and hit .412 in five games before having his season end prematurely due to a right eye injury suffered on a foul tip...Following the season, batted .301 with 26 runs scored in 39 games with 13 stolen bases in 17 attempts for Ponce in the Puerto Rican Winter League and was named the league's Rookie of the Year.
